driftwood beach

i don't think there's anything more relaxing than strolling along a deserted beach. the only sound.. waves & the odd seagull, feet in the sand, looking for interesting bits of driftwood, leaves, feathers and seaglass.

i found lots of small pieces to make this rustic sign.
i can imagine it hanging outside a weathered old beach shack.

maybe a fish?

i made this garland a while ago using similar sized pieces, whitewashed then drilled and threaded onto string.

i also picked up a few bits of plastic left behind and saw a seagull with a plastic straw in it's beak. not good for seagulls or other sealife when it ends up in the ocean.

do you love beachcombing?

  2. Oh no I hope the sea gull is ok! The ones that end up with all the fishing line tangled around their feet break my heart! Love all your finds and yes, huge beach combing fan here. x

  8. I love hitting the beach looking for shells, driftwood, etc. Where I live (coastal Georgia, USA ) I have never found any seaglass, but it doesn't stop me from hoping that one day I will. I love all ur pictures, Australia looks so beautiful

  11. Your driftwood beach sign is so, so pretty. We spent this past weekend at a secluded beach and found so many unique beach treasures. Love an undisturbed beach in its natural element :)

  12. ilove the garland and the sign as well. my 16 year-old granddaughter just returned from folley beach, south carolina and had to be hospitalized with severe stomach pains-she's been having them for some time. anyway, i'm thinking of making a sign like this for her room with an arrow at the bottom. she loves the beach and i know she would love the sign. thanks for sharing your beautiful ideas.

  13. Whenever people decide to have such vacations, it has a huge potential to be one you had wanted it to be. It has been observed, most people imagine bountiful beaches, everlasting sunshine, golf courses galore, a definite taste that would easily give you an idea of what it is to retire in a perpetual land of warm weather.

  14. Love your beach finds and that sign is so cute! We don't get much driftwood up here or seaglass, mainly bits of coral and shells. I get so excited when I eventually come across a piece of seaglass (very rare) and well, I've given up on driftwood :)
