eating out

I thought i'd make it a week of eating out in Sydney (with a coastal theme of course) on the blog & in real life.
Well.. it is my birthday today and why not make the most of it & celebrate living this long!

Yesterday's venue - The Museum of Contemporary Art where i met my mum for lunch. If you're looking for somewhere to eat around Circular Quay this is a great spot. You can't beat the view from the upstairs cafe, the food & service is good & prices are reasonable.

It's right next to The Rocks - where the earliest Europeans settled in Sydney in the 1700's. A lovely area full of beautiful old buildings, many built from Sydney sandstone. While we wandered around the streets my mum told me that when my great grandmother first came to Australia she lived in The Rocks. So that's an interesting piece of history i don't think i knew about.

hope you're enjoying your week too!

  10. Happy Birthday Cheryl. I love Cadmans cottage and was surprised to learn it was built only a few metres above the original shore line of Sydney Cove.

We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful city.
